PATH THROUGH POTAGER
The gravel path leads up to the centre of the vegetable garden and then on to a terracotta pot at the end of the vista. The 4' wide raised beds are edged in gravel boards stained a soft slatey blue and they are arranged around a decorative central octagon mosaic of reclaimed bricks, flints and slabs.
Metal arches link the beds and Rosa 'Mme Alfred Carriere' scrambles over the top. Lavender creates both a pretty and a bee-attracting edging to the beds. The yew hedging gives much needed protection and has now grown to a thick screen since this photograph was taken.
